A Brief Background to Newline Products & Services and newline Canine Supplements

Edmund McClureEdmund McClure has been associated with farming and helping with dogs health problems ever since he was born over half a century ago into a farming family in Northern Ireland. After reading Agriculture at The Queens University in Belfast in the early 1960’s, he entered the feed compounding industry and has spent his entire working life advising livestock farmers and dog owners on the feeding of their animals to achieve optimum breeding and production responses, generally through an introduction of nutritional supplements vitamins to the animals diet as part of a canine treatment programme.

He founded Newline Products & Services in 1992 with the twin aims of providing UK livestock producers with a range of Newline Branded Feed and Supplement Products and also providing nutritional and feed formulation advice on a consultancy basis to animal feed compounder's in mainland Europe, Asia, South and North America. The fit ‘n fertile™ product range being introduced to assist canine treatment and support both dog owners and carers with dogs health problems.

Fundamental to newline feed product formulation to achieve very high nutritional standards is the choice of “quality assured” ingredients of consistent physical quality and nutrient specification allied to a policy of “fixed formulation”, ie. once the product nutritional and raw material constraints for formulation purposes have been set these are maintained during on-going manufacture thereby ensuring final product consistency and continuity of animal performance with time. Contrary to the policy of most feed manufacturers, newline product formulations contain many proven natural products from the modern bio-technology industry shown to enhance the breeding and health performance of animals.

Newline canine treatment supplements formulated by Edmund McClure were introduced into the UK marketplace in 2001 as the first products of their type following successful previous trial feeding to canines. They contain a proven range of blended quality products from Alltech Inc. - the world leader in the production and testing of bio-technology products to enhance the health and performance of canines whether kept for breeding, showing, working or for sheer pleasure by their owners.

Since that time newline canine treatment trademark products such as Fit ‘n Fertile™ and Lifetime Fitness™ have become well known, trusted, recognised and widely used as superb support for dogs health problems by dog breeders, police and security services and dog lovers not only within UK but also in other continents of the world; proof (if it were needed) of the quality of canine treatment products manufactured and marketed directly by Newline Products & Services.

Observed Potential Benefits:
  • Improved digestibility of food consumed due to added protease, amylase and cellulase enzymes - an important factor where the 24 hour food allocation is given once daily and eaten in a short space of time.
  • Improved beneficial gut bacterial flora due to the addition of lactic acid producing bacteria.
  • Reduced problems with potential pathogenic bacteria in the gastro-intestinal tract.
  • Reduced offensive odour from faecal material.
  • Added folic acid to aid fertility and conception in the breeding bitch.
  • Improved trace mineral absorption and bio-availability as a result of feeding organic forms of many trace minerals. Improved trace mineral availability results in:
    • The maintenance of health and well-being and supports the natural immunity with increased vitality as many of the added trace minerals are essential components of metabolic body enzyme systems e.g. zinc, copper and manganese.
    • Improved coat condition (smoothness), lustre and quality - zinc and copper bio-availability affect hair texture and colouring.
    • The provision of increased intakes of iron and cobalt to support healthy metabolic systems in dogs due to the increased bio-availability of iron and cobalt in the organic form for working and competition animals.
    • Improved stamina and recovery times from working and competition dogs placed under sudden and/or prolonged stress results from the feeding of organic Selenium together with regular daily intakes of Vitamin E. Organic Selenium also helps maintain a high natural sperm quality in male dogs used for breeding purposes.
