In other words when applied to canines it may be expressed as “a source of a nutrient or nutrients over and above those supplied via the daily intake of regular food consumed by the animal.” This daily allowance may be in the form of purchased compounds formulated as a branded dog food (wet and / or dry) or a mix of food from various ingredients prepared directly by the dog keeper and fed on a daily basis.
